Le Kwartz
My approach for this piece was to embody the building’s name, ‘Le Kwartz,’ while simultaneously establishing a link with the menhir (standing stone) classified by Cultural Affairs, located just a hundred meters from the site.
The artwork represents a meteorite split upon impact with the ground, revealing a luminous quartz at its heart. This contrast between the raw exterior and the precious interior symbolizes the duality of strength and delicacy, protection and revelation.
The exterior stone, raw and massive, evokes solidity and the test of time, while the inner quartz embodies purity and the hidden richness that is discovered deep within.
